什么是没有安全套的性行为的风险？(the risks of sex without a condom?)
没有安全套的性行为有两大风险。当一个男人和一个女人发生性关系时，怀孕是一种非常现实的可能性。在所有情况下，在没有安全套的情况下进行性行为都会增加感染性传播疾病（STD）的风险。安全套不能提供完美的预防性病感染的保护，但它们提供的保护范围从好到好，取决于所讨论的疾病。在没有安全套的情况下进行性行为，感染性病的风险总是更高。。
安全套首先是一种节育方式，没有安全套或其他节育方式的性行为往往会导致怀孕。如果正确、一致地使用乳胶避孕套，它们在预防怀孕方面非常有效。一对典型的健康夫妻，如果在合理规律的基础上进行性关系，平均每月有20%的机会怀孕，因此在一整年中几乎有100%的机会怀孕。当一对夫妇正确且一致地使用避孕套时，受孕的几率为2%到3%，这是一个非常显著的下降。。
没有安全套的性行为的另一个主要风险是性病感染的可能性。十几种不同的感染可以通过性接触传播。安全套的使用有助于预防所有类型的性病，但对预防艾滋病毒/艾滋病的传播最为有效。艾滋病毒是一种非常脆弱的病毒，通常只有当含有病毒的体液进入新的宿主时才会传播，通常是通过皮肤破裂或与粘膜接触。正确使用安全套对预防这种传播非常有效。。

男性安全套在预防性病传播方面通常更有效，因为与女性安全套相比，男性安全套能更好地阻止体液传播和感染。然而，女用避孕套在预防怀孕方面非常有效。这两种安全套都可能破裂，最常见的情况是使用不当，但这种风险很小，没有安全套发生性行为的风险更大、更严重。
