犹太人包括三个群体:信奉犹太教并有犹太民族背景的人(有时包括那些没有严格的母系血统的人),没有犹太父母的人皈依犹太教;那些不信奉犹太教的犹太人,由于他们家族的犹太血统和他们自己对犹太人的文化和历史认同,仍然认为自己是犹太人。
