什么是工作票？(a work ticket?)
工作通知单是持续更新的文档，主要用于服务行业跟踪项目状态。例如，工作票可用于汽车维修、物品运输、计算机硬件或软件维修或电话服务安装。在现代，工作票通常是一个虚拟文档，这意味着没有生成实际的文书工作。而是通过软件数据库创建和更新票据。
使用虚拟工作票的好处很多。例如，服务提供商可以输入对客户的查询并了解项目的状态。一旦服务完成并达到客户和服务提供商满意的程度，工作通知单通常会被下一次服务的新数据覆盖。然而，越来越多的服务提供商正在保存他们生成的工作通知单的完整副本，以准确显示特定服务是如何提供的，以及该过程需要多长时间。然后，如果客户认为服务未及时提供或未完成，则使用工作票解决争议。。
工作票不应与工作指令、收据或合同混淆。工作通知单不具有法律约束力，因为它只是一份信息性文件，允许服务提供商了解已完成的工作和剩余的工作。还可以添加个人注释，如“客户粗鲁且咄咄逼人”或“客户听力障碍，必须使用电传打字机（TTY）”，让其他人了解与特定客户打交道时遇到的独特挑战。
工单是一个初始请求，它具体定义了客户和服务提供商认为需要做什么。合同规定了如何完成工作的条款，以便双方对条款有清晰的理解。这通常包括报价、工作时间框架、客户提供的内容以及服务提供商在合同结束时完成的内容。收据是服务和欠款的最终清点。
