什么是配角？(a supporting character?)
“配角”一词是一个广泛的范畴，包括任何角色，顾名思义，以某种方式支持但不承载故事。许多人对这个词有不同的理解，认为配角必须支持主角。这是真实的，因为为主要角色提供一个共鸣板是一种支持，但这种类型角色的真正使命是增加情节和故事的深度和趣味性。配角出现在许多不同类型的媒体中，包括电视、书面故事，甚至视频游戏。。
广义地说，配角是一个在故事中具有个性和某种程度的永恒性，但其选择和行动不是故事的主要焦点的角色。配角可能有自己的使命，也可能是剧集的焦点，就像许多电视连续剧一样。即便如此，他们也不是观众完成故事所依赖的人物。
