什么是写作过程中的步骤是什么？(the steps in the writing process?)
写作过程是作者创作作品的方法。在这个高度个性化的过程中，作者可能会在一个步骤中花费过多的时间，甚至完全跳过几个步骤。写作过程中普遍接受的五个步骤是写作前、起草、修改、编辑和出版。
写前准备也称为头脑风暴。这是写作的构思阶段，作者决定写什么并研究主题。自由写作，即作者在预定的时间内不间断地写作，是许多有助于这一步骤的写作技巧之一。当这个阶段结束时，作者应该拥有他或她需要写的所有信息，以及组织的总体概念。许多作者通过写提纲来完成这一阶段。
起草是写作过程的第二阶段。在起草过程中，作者应以他或她的预写笔记为指导，写出完整的初稿。起草的目的是要有一个完整的草案，而不是一个完美的草案，因此鼓励作者忽略拼写或语法错误，快速写作。
修改，写作的第三步，不同于编辑。作者不是专注于纠正拼写和语法错误，而是移动句子甚至整个段落，以创造更好的流畅性。作者可能还必须重新安排语法以改变句子结构。
编辑，也称为校对，是第四阶段。在编辑过程中，作者需要检查拼写、语法和标点符号。许多作者发现，在完成其他步骤后，很难看到自己的错误。出于这个原因，许多作家参加了同侪编辑，同事们互相校对彼此的作品。
写作过程的最后一步是发表或展示作品。这可能意味着由出版商印刷，或者复制、装订并将副本分发给朋友。这一步的目的是以最适合作品的任何方式分享作品。对于小学生来说，出版可能意味着把论文贴在教室的墙上。研究生可能会在会议上发表论文。
虽然写作过程的步骤应该按顺序进行，但有时作者必须返回几个步骤。这在修改过程中最为常见。在阅读初稿时，作者可能会意识到他或她忘记了研究一个重要的观点。如果是这样，作者必须回到第一步，即写作前，以便进行更多的研究。
